U.s. President Joe Biden hosted the largest Diwali reception at the White House. The reception was attended by nearly 200 eminent Indian Americans.

By India Today Web Desk: US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr Jill Biden on Mon hosted a Diwali reception at the White House. Vice President Kamala Harris was besides present on occasion.

The reception was attended by nearly 200 eminent Indian Americans. Information technology was the largest reception hosted by the White House since information technology started celebrating the festival during the George Bush administration.

"Diwali is a reminder that each of us has the power to dispel darkness and bring lite to the world. It was my pleasure to celebrate this joyous occasion at the White House today", President Biden said in a tweet.

The reception was organised at the East Room, a venue which has witnessed several geopolitical developments, including the signing of the nuclear bargain and the articulation press conference by and then-US President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November 2008.

Sitarist Rishab Sharma and the trip the light fantastic troupe, The Sa Dance Visitor, presented exhilarating performances during the reception.

"The room is total at the East state dining room. This is a existent celebration of what the Indian American community has achieved in the United states. It's a wonderful recognition by the President and the White House to host all of united states of america on Diwali. I feel very privileged to be here as an Indian American," PTI quoted Atul Keshap, president of the Us India Business Council as saying.
